I'm reposting for our previous nanny as she was out of the country for 6 weeks and unavailable to interview with families who were in need of her care.

With two months without her behind us,  I can say that the gap she's left in our family is deeply felt. Any family would be very lucky to have her caring for their children.

Please let me know if you have any questions. ahovis@mac.com

Best,
Angela

------------------------------------------------------------------

I am sadly posting the availability of our much-loved nanny, Ruby. My two-year-old twin girls are starting daycare in September as I think they are ready for the next experience. In an ideal world I would love to have the girls in school half of the day and with Ruby the rest. Financially this isn't possible for us. So, we've made the difficult decision to help her find a new family.

Ruby has been with my girls since they were 6 months old when I returned to work. The transition from being with the girls to working full time was made easy by her. My neighbor, who is a preschool teacher and experienced nanny, would tell me how she could hear Ruby singing to the girls throughout the day. Ruby didn't just tend to their needs (feeding, diapering, etc.), she really cared for and loved them. As they've grown older, Ruby has cared for them in the same way, always going beyond just taking care of their basic needs. She sings with them, dances with them, rolls on the floor and giggles with them. She takes them to the park when the weather is nice. She finds fun things to do at home when it's not, like coloring, reading, playing games and playing with play-doh. She never parks them in front of the TV.

One thing that sticks out among all of her good traits is her amazing patience and evenness in mood. No matter the mood of either of my girls, Ruby is always kind and patient with them. I have never heard her raise her voice or even seem the slightest bit frustrated or angry with them. I work from home sometimes and my husband does often. Both of us have heard and witnessed her amazing care. We've had many conversations about how lucky we are to have found someone who is so kind to our girls. I've also had parents approach me in the park to tell me how good Ruby is with my girls.

Ruby has a lot of experience with twins and multiple children. She was with her last family, who recommended her to us, for 6 years. They had twins and a younger child. She was with them from the time the twins were born until the family moved back to Israel. They were incredibly sad to let her go.

Ideally she would love to find another family with two children, but one is also good. Since she is so good with working with more than one child, there is also the possibility of two families setting up a share.

I can't say enough good things about her and how heavy my heart feels at letting her go. So, if you know of a good family who is need of an amazing care-giver, please let me know. Ruby will be available in mid-October after returning from a much needed vacation. :)
