A good friend of mine has a 3-month old, who has been diagnosed with a hydrocephalus.  The baby is undergoing brain surgery this week to install a shunt, but she's been told there is a failure rate and the possibility of infection.  And it will be a question of lifelong maintenance.

Naturally, she is quite worried and overwhelmed and is looking for people to talk to who have experienced this.  If anyone has had a baby with a hydrocephalus or knows of anyone and would be willing to talk to her, let me know and I'll forward to her.
